Our 1st visit to the library...
Had been planning to bring the kids to the library all these while but there are always sumthing that has stopped our plan......Well, eventhough the kids had their own mini library at school but they have not experience to go to the "real" library yet..

Last Saturday hubby woke up & first thing he told me.."Mari pigi lai-fai-bre-fre-ri-fi" (if you don't know what's that means..it means "Library" in "F" language ;)))..he says that cuz he doesn't want the kids to understand on what he says or else it will excite them awal2x...

Daddy only told them after they had took their bath...wah semua pun excited...Told Andrea to bring her homework along and she immediately packed her bag..and Andrew..tidak mau kalah juga...so he just brought his bag without anything inside [-)...

Not so sure which library to go (ada di Dongongon, Jalan Tasik & KK)...so just told hubs to go to the one in Jalan Tasik since it's new & i've been there few months back during our work visit. So off to Library Jalan Tasik we went...

Since its their first visit to the library, so took their "gambar kenangan" infront of the Jalan Tasik Library :D....

Andrea muka excited..err..Andrew (wearing dad's fav shirt) muka blurr??

So when we got inside, the environment was too quite (luckily we had warned the kids to be quite & behave themselves)....Andrea wanted to do her homework but could not find a suitable place for her to sit.....Both hubs & i were trying to search for kiddies book but couldn't find one...the only thing that we can see are magazines & computers...Being curious myself, went & ask the guy at the counter and he told me.."lama suda tu bahagian kanak2x kana pindah pigi KK library"...oooo..ok..now i know..since no children section here so thought that the kids at least could play the computers (tidak juga sia2x kan) so went to the counter once again kunun wanted to pay for the internet access but was so dissapointed (again) when the guy told me that only those with membership card could have the access for RM1/hour....I had lost my membership card few years ago and so wanted to apply for my kids BUT they could not process since I did not bring their birth cert..mana la sia tau kan!!...aduii...(double the dissapointment :(:()...Told the kids just to go back since nothing they can do there...itu pun suda start lari2x sana sini....both of them gave us the "sad" look and said "Still want to go to library!!"..

Doesn't want to dissapoint them..so hubs drove us to KK Library....can see the kids smiling face again :D/....when we got inside there..wow..this is the rite place for kids..the environment memang ngam la...!!! No one care if your kids are jumping or running around....as long as they did not shout or make loud noice and that's ok...Both Andrea & Andrew were enjoying themselves and see what they've learned from their visit:-

A place where you can sit and do your homework.

A place where you can find plenty of interesting & colourful books in many shapes & sizes..

From stories book to children's encyclopedia. (Andrew is looking at the insect's encyclopedia)

A place where you could relax, chill out and stretch your legs..

And finally....

A new place for Andrew to run and jump 8-}...

Will definately gonna visit this place again...At least now Andrea is motivated to read..those colourful and interesting books must have inspired her a lot :)...Well, to wraps up my entry for today..here's Andrea teaching her adik to read...and it only lasted for 1 minute 22 seconds???

The true taste of homemade Laksa Sarawak..
This frozen Sarawak Laksa Paste (as seen on this pic on ur left) has been living/staying inside our fridge for quite sometimes now. My aunt M went to Tawau few months back and Uncle J has given her this laksa paste as an ole-ole (i guess) but since aunt M knows that hubs can cook laksa sarawak quite well (she has tasted it before), so she gave this laksa paste to my mom..

Has been asking my chef a.k.a hubby to cook this laksa for a while now but due to his busy work schedule, feels tired, etc....trus kena lupa suda this laksa paste inside the fridge..But was so happy indeed when last Sunday he finally have the time & mood (i guess) to prepare this (so called rare-to-do) meal as for our lunch...*yippie*....Why i say this (rare-to-do)..cuz the main ingredient for this recipe which is the s'wak laksa paste could only be found/bought in Sarawak (kalau ada di KK, kasitau sia ah...). So while he was busy preparing this laksa, i went inside the kitchen...err..not to help but busy taking pictures for my blog...;))..biasa la paparazzi kan...B-)

Managed to snap few pics (thanks to hubs for his full cooperation @};-)....and just wanted to share with you on the recipe (in case you might interested to try)...here are the steps/ways to prepare a true taste of homemade "Laksa Sarawak"....

The ingredients:-

(5 servings from Flavours):

300 grams laksa paste
250 to 300 ml thick coconut milk (frm one coconut)
1 packet of bee hoon
Bean sprouts (pandai2x la mo estimate)
100 grams chicken breast fillet, boiled and shredded
4-5 boiled eggs, halved
2 stalks coriander (daun sup), chopped
4-5 limau kasturi, halved

1) For the gravy, boil the laksa paste for at least 15 minutes.
2) Strain into a pot.
3) Add the coconut milk and stir until well mixed. Season to taste with salt and sugar.
4) Soak the dried bee hoon to soften and blanch with hot water.
5) Place noodles in a bowl and add the toppings (beansprouts, shredded chicken & boiled eggs).
6) Ladle hot laksa gravy over.
7) Garnish with coriander (daun sup), limau kasturi and the laksa gravy.

Walaaaa...the Laksa Sarawak is now ready to be served....and here how's the homemade Laksa Sarawak looks like...

Laksa Sarawak with the topping & garnish

This was our lunch on Sunday ~ the true taste of homemade laksa Sarawak with "mee hoon" inside...:D..It tasted much more better than the one i had in *toot*..

"Good Thing" did happen....
I had been telling my colleagues (C & M) that my eye lid on my right keep on blinking itself...not so sure if it meant something good or bad....C told me that something good is going to happen.."Bagus pigi beli 4D" dia bilang $-)...so I did..but still no luck 8-....Guess that wasn't the "Good thing" after all.. ;))..

My eye lid continue to blink for the next few days...and guess what....it's true what C has told me...something good did happen...In two weeks in a row, we got a visit from relatives (hub's side) & a close friend that came all the way from Kuching & JB.....

Hubby's Aunt & her family (the hubby + her two daughters - Pipin & Lyn) + hubby's grandma (which he called "mumbok" in Bidayuh) were here in KK 2 weeks ago to attend Pipin's graduation day at UMS...Congrats to Pipin!! They were here for a week (from 2nd - 8th Sept) but only managed to meet them on the 4/9 (Tue) since their schedule were pretty tight (they had planned to go to Ranau & Labuan). Was so happy to meet them especially my dear hubby...it has been quite a while since we last meet them, wah apalagi..when they met up..semua pun speaking in tongue..;))....excited my hubby...We didn't have a chance to bring them to tour around though.....we just met them at the hotel and had a chat and catch up stories with each other....then a day before they fly back to Kuching, brought them to my dad's place in Dungkahang for dinner & had a mini family gathering together with my parents & siblings. Send them to airport the nxt morning, their flight was in the afternoon..before they left, sempat juga they gave Andrea & Andrew with some angpows..Tq!!...Only few pics were taken, semua pun camera shy...

A day after they went back, had another visitor....a friend of ours, Melvin who came all the way from JB to KK to attend a course for a week (from 9th - 15th Sept). For those who didn't know, he was our unimate in UTM, housemate for few years & our geng keras in JB...He's a Sarawakian but working in JB and now married with 2 kids (wah..detailnya..ndak pa bah kan since ini 1st time muka ko masuk my blog..hehehe)...and we kinda related juga..his elder brother married to my elder sister...we shared the same niece & nephew...what a small world kan...8-} ...

We only met him on Tuesday night and plan to treat him dinner at one of hubby's fav restaurant in Lintas (sadap the western food sana) but due to the heavy rain, change the venue to Pizza Hut @ CTMall. Suppose kami yang mo blanja bah kan...turn out dia pulak yg belanja..rejeki....TQ ah Melvin!!!

Melvin & hubby with the kids @ Pizza Hut CTMall.

A day before he flies back to JB, he treated us (our family + his brother's family) dinner at Dowish. Tq once again ah Melvin !!..rejeki lagi..hehehe...the food there was nice esp. the prawn =..service pun ok......

Took photo @ Dowish while waiting for the food..

The foods...yummy!!

The kids: Andrea (wearing her fav dress), Sha-sha, Don-Don & Andrew.

Andrea & Andrew both get presant from Uncle Melvin..*showing their happy faces*

Andrea got herself a barbie doll complete with few sets of wardrobes...she loves it!!

Andrew got himself a remote control car....he likes it so much...

Trus mau main suda..

Andrew could not wait to test his remote control car..

On the nxt day, we brought the kids to Pacific Sutera Hotel's swim pool for their early bath..Melvin has been staying in this hotel for a week...so took the chance la...hehehe..

Enjoying themselves inside the pool..

After few hours of swim, had a rest inside the hotel room..All concentrating watching this movie "The House of wax"..

The clock shows almost 11 a.m & it's time for Melvin to fly back home to his family in JB...sent him to airport to catch his afternoon flight at 12.15 p.m.

Melvin was forced to use a sun glass due to an eye infection on his right eye....suda baik ka mata ko Melvin?

Time to go home..Sayonara Melvin....

My eye lid has been stopped blinking since then....well...life goes back to normal.....hopefully there will be more "good things" coming to our life after this without waiting/hoping/depending my eye lid to start blinking all over again..:D....Will leave that to God to decide..
