| Unplanned mini vacation.. |
(Warning: This gonna be a long entry from me).
Was having a short chat with my uni-mate last week which is now in Kuching & she asked me.."Ada kamu plan apa2x during school holidays?"..Told her.."Tiada...di sini saja kami"...Not until hubby called me from home last Thursday to ask me to check on the net for hotels/resort available in Kundasang...He took leave for 2 days (Thursday & Friday - he just applied this on Wed) mau spend time with the kids he said...Actually I've also applied for emergency leave on Friday for the same reason cuz Andrea has been complaining she was bored at home since day 1 of school holiday. She even followed her daddy to his workplace last Tuesday...luckily daddy was not so busy on that particular day...
So on Thursday..called Kinabalu Pine Resort since Charlie said try ini dulu...but all the rooms were fully booked till Saturday..tried few other hotels/resorts....sama juga fully booked.. found out there's a Climbathon event going on that weekend..no wonder la....So Charlie said.."Bah pigi saja la...kalau tiada tempat, pigi poring saja..."
We started our journey to Kundasang on Friday morning with a short prayer inside the car lead by daddy (to ask for God protection for a safe journey). Had breakfast at Kedai Kopi Kenon, Dongongon..then bila baru mau jalan, I just realized that we forgot to bring our tooth brush & Andrew's flu medicine + his puff & vicks (just incase he has dificulty with his breathing at nite) - tu la last minute punya packing. So balik rumah lagi, luckily we were just nearby...We reached Tuaran town around 11.30 a.m., stopped by at KFC since Andrew didn't eat much during bfast...  It was drizzling and foggy on our way to Kundasang, with low visibility...luckily the kids slept all the way so daddy has a peace of mind while driving....
We reached Kundasang around 2.30 p.m...and our next mission is to find a place to stay for a nite...Just wanted to try our luck actually, so went to Kinabalu Pine Resort (eventhough we know it's fully booked) and ask the lady at the reception counter and still the answer is the same. Tried Strawberry and Rose Cabin, both also fully booked...Finally look for Zen Garden Resort (as recommended by Jurra)...when we got there, the lady @ reception counter told us the only room available are the one with 2 single beds (dinner & bfast included). Since the price is quite reasonable, we didn't ask much...They gave us the Bamboo Executive Suite at room 220 - satisfied with our room. Since it was still drizzling outside, canceled our plan to poring and just stayed in the resort..
After took our bath, went & stroll around the resort & enjoying ourselves with the beautiful scenery of Kundasang while waiting for our dinner at 6 p.m....The dinner was served in ala-carte style..Not bad la the food....taste yummy & fresh...menu for our dinner: Rice, chic curry, mix vege + sweet & sour fish....eventhough the serving is for 2 but just enough to cater for the 4 of us..Later that nite, went down to Ranau town to buy few snacks for us to munch at nite..It was freezing cold especially at nite, didn't even switched on the fan and yet still feeling cold..the temperature could be around 16 - 18 deg celsius....Anyhow, didn't regret at all to stay at this resort....with the reasonable price, beautiful scenery, good accommodation, nice food and most importantly it is located far far away from the hectic life...
 Andrew woke up early in the morning surprised to see that he has his diaper on..hehehe...he has stopped from wearing his diapers since he was 2. Reason y he was on diaper: Mom also want to take a break from her duty to kasi shee-shee Andrew bah..holiday mah..
Was satisfied with what is served for breakfast...We checked out around 9.30 a.m. on Saturday and went straight to Poring, Ranau...luckily the weather is fine this time. The kids really enjoyed and had so much fun inside the pool especially the one with the slide...I slide together with Andrew and wow...punya best...punya laju & licin the slide... sakit my bump..Andrew & Andrea were both so excited..they have tried once and mau pigi lagi...dunno how many times we have to slide together with them..*sigh*..Went back around noon and reached KK around 3.30 p.m. Stopped by at Giant Kolombong to have some food...Reached home around 5.30 p.m. and brought back some ole2x from Ranau - vege & fruits (DURIAN). Really enjoyed our unplanned mini vacation...i think the kids feel the same way too....eventhough it was kinda last minute plan, but everything went quite well & smooth..and I would like to thank God for planning things for us, keeping us safe and in good health, making us happy and laughing throughout our vacation. | Food of the day... |
I did not plan to take my dinner last nite since my stomach is still too full..ate a lot during lunch yesterday...had nasi lemak kukus @ Giant Kolombong and I tell u, i kasi licin habis all those food u see in the pic below (u can ask si Minah Yatie..she's the witness)...If you know me..usually i'll only ask for "nasi separuh"....BUT didn't regret it at all..the taste was just too yummy & when i realise tinggal sikit lagi my rice so alang2x kasi habis...haven't tasted anything like this for ages.....u shud go & try the nasi lemak kukus there..it only costs RM4......you won't regret....
Ok back to the main topic..suppose to skip my dinner rite, but then I change my mind after what I saw my personal chef a.k.a hubby had prepared for dinner....Tadaaa..this is what i call "Tuna Sardine Bambangan".  Actually this can be considered his new recipe..usually he will mix the tuna sardine with "asam jawa" but last nite..my chef substitute it with bambangan...(creative juga chef sia ni..have to give him credit sikit bah..hehehe)....
I just lurveeeeeee the bambangan yang suda kana jeruk..I can just eat them without having any rice...memang ngam betul the menu he cook last nite....From the pic nampak macam tidak sedap kan..but then if suda masuk dalam mulut.........WOW......sadap......for those bambangan lover sure will like the taste of this food..ada rasa asam, masin campur pedas....it's kinda like appetizer juga..... This recipe is quite simple & easy to prepare..it'll only take you less than 5 minutes ..If you're interested to try..here are the ingredients & steps to do it:- Ingredients
1 tin of Tuna Sardine
Bambangan - jeruk punya (secukup rasa)
Red cili padi (depends on how spicy you want it to be – recommended 5 to 6)
Chopped onion & garlic (pandai2x la estimate)
Salt (secukup rasa)
Ajinomoto (boleh juga kalau tidak mau)
Oil
Steps:
1. Cook and stir the onions and garlic in the hot oil until tender.
2. Mix in the bambangan, tuna sardine, salt & ajinomoto, and cook for about 3 – 5 minutes, until well blended.
3. Food is now ready to be served. p/s: Honey..if u r reading this..u must be talking to ur self & smile sendiri2x nie kannn..."Patut la tanya sia macam mana mo masak semalam..mo kasi masuk blog pula..."

| Kids Say the Darndest Things.. |
 The weather on last Sunday afternoon was so damn hot..dunno about you guys but at home it was really3x hot..& ngam2x on that day there was no electricity around 12.45 p.m (tgh org siok2x tingu Melodi)....The power was only restored around 3.30 p.m. just nice for the kids + mom & dad to take a nap for about an hour..so later in the evening around 5.30 p.m. we brought the kids for a swim at Kompleks Sukan Penampang just to cool down their body & of course for them to have fun..
Nothing interesting happen but what has caught to my attention is the conversation between this two girls from the other corner of the pool (I think they are aged around 7 - 8 yrs old judging from their size) ..I was standing near the pool watching my kids & overheard these girls talking....
Girl A: Siapa nama kau?
Girl B: Jane..
Girl A: Nama sia Lala..tapi boleh juga panggil Princess atau Angel...
Girl A: Kau kaya kah, sederhana kah atau miskin?
Girl B: hmmmm *thinking*....kaya..
Girl A: eeee.....sama..sia pun kaya..
Girl A: Kau Christian ka atau Islam?
Girl B: Christian..
Girl A: eeee....sama..sia pun Christian...
Hmmm....Kids nowadays...u have any comment??
Bah..now this mother of two kids & aged 31 would like to ask you.."Kau kaya ka, sederhana atau miskin?" If your answer is "Buli la cukup2x makan." then only I'll say.."eeee....sama..sia pun.."  |

| Lil' Italy here we come.. |
We (me, Jurra, Jira, Ulai & Ujie) had another free lunch last Friday at Lil' Italy (Olaf's - laki si neneth punya fav restaurant)...My special thanks to Neneth for treating us the delicious food..order punya la main banyak but could not finish them all...tu la gudoot kan...Those food as you've seen in the pic above was only 1/2 of them..ada lagi tidak kena gambar cuz all of us were busy eating & chit-chatting with each other..hehehe..
p/s: The food menu which I've label above hanya la rekaan semata-mata ok :).

| New pet in da house.. |
We have a new pet in da house..my mom took this cute puppy from my aunt's friend and they named it Oscar (actually my aunt the one who named it)..Brownie, the other puppy (or can consider a dog now) has been alone for few weeks since his brother "Putut" kena buang daerah at Kompleks Sukan Penampang by my mom...tu la siapa suruh pigi gigit kasut & baju orang...so kena punishment la..but kesian juga la..The moment when Putut was separated from his brother Brownie...I did cried actually..keluar juga air mata.....sedih bah!!
Oscar was just about 5 weeks old when my mom took him last week...According to my aunt this puppy is a mixture of kampung dog + fox (dunno what's that actually..) kira mix la mcm tu..But he looks more like a kampung dog to me but he has thick & soft hair with short legs..
And guess who's the happiest of all???? Sepa lagi kalau bukan si Andrea..she loves this lil' puppy so much and she has been calling him "baby"...Wanna know how much she loves & concerned about Oscar...
1) On her way home from school, she'll say.."I can't wait to see my baby.."
2) When it rains or windy outside, she'll say.."How la Oscar, mommy? He has no blanket!"
3) When it's blackout at nite, she'll shout & say.."Mommy..how la Oscar????!!!" - This happen just recently..
4) The minute she comes back from school, she must carry & cuddle him at least for few minutes..

| Alesha Mehrnaz Lee turns 1. |
Happy 1st Birthday to Alesha Mehrnaz!!! Jira's beautiful daughter Mehrnaz has turned 1 yesterday & they celebrated her 1st Birthday at Grand Port View Seafood Restaurant. Invitation was at 7 p.m...thought that we were late already since we reached there around 7.10 p.m...but it seems that we were one of those who came early..hehehe...
Haven't seen Mehrnaz for quite sometimes now..I think the last I saw her is when she was just about 2mths old..and look at her now..she is all grown up & looks as pretty as her mommy...bulatnya mata ko tu Mer Mer..so cute...Few of our colleagues came....Cindy + family, Neneth + family, Winnie + Family, Mona + family, Alice & Syarifah. Jo-Anne Rampas the former State Unduk Ngadau (Jira's 1st cousin) was there as well..mau ambil gambar bah sama dia tu tapi sia malu..hehehe...
The party went quite well but it was freezing cold inside...terlampau sejuk the aircon...the food & cake was tasty & yummy..sadap oo tu cake Jira...And of course the kids had so much fun.....running & jumping here & there...some of them ended up crying...si Chad sama si Qhareef ka tu? hehehe..terlampau banyak geng bah....We left around 9 p.m. & thanks Jira's MIL kasi tapau us with some foods..

| Free lunch @ Secret Recipe.. |
It's Friday & I do not have to picked up the kids (Charlie yg ambil) which means I will have my "me" time again with the girls hehehe...Joined Neneth & Jurra to CP & met Ujie there. This time, we had our lunch at Secret Recipe @ Palm Square...When we 1st had a look at the menu..someone says.."order saja apa2x kamu mau ah"....we were like "what?"...Then we looked at Jurra.."Betul bah Jurra... ko belanja???"...she nodded & smile...wah we all apa lagi...semua pun happy & senyum lebar trus....Thank you so much ah Jurra  ....nanti murah rejeki ko tu....like this saying "The more you give..the more you'll get"  ..I can't decide what to eat so just ordered "Fish & Chips" + coke..The rest of them ordered like what you'll see in this pic..

Finally....watched Rush Hour 3 at GSC last nite @ 9.15 p.m. show. We managed to be there on time eventhough it's kinda last minute plan...Luckily there were still plenty of seat
s available...

...He has planned this earlier pulak...no wonder he brought the black backpack from home this morning...he has packed the kids clothing & towel without me knowing it...tapi didn't bring his own clothes pulak...At first I refused to go since it's has been raining for few days now and all those -ve thinking keep on telling me not to go..byk cerita ba suda dengar but Charlie says it's gonna be ok....since the weather was ok that afternoon..sia kasi ok saja lah..mau tau dalam hati sembahyang saja so that nothing bad gonna happen (palis2x)...
Reached home around 4 p.m...just nice to get ready for sun set mass at Stella Maris. Well, since the kids didn't take their afternoon nap, both of them 
inside the church while me & Charlie had a peace mind during the mass service...hehehe...
)...shocked at first..lain2x suda pikiran nie...then try to control mo katawa...but then daddy managed to control the situation & told Andrea...
